Typhoon Haishen likely won't be making a direct hit on South Korea, but in the regions affected there will be strong winds and heavy rain.
Our Han Seong-woo explains the precautions to take until the storm passes.
Typhoon Haishen is forecast to reach Korea's east coast early Monday morning.
It won't be hitting the Peninsula head on, but by the time it gets to Busan, the storm will have winds of up to 145 kilometers an hour.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety advises people to stay away from areas vulnerable to flooding and landslides.
Those living near water, including rivers, and especially on the east coast, should immediately go somewhere safe from flooding if ordered to evacuate.
Otherwise, stay inside with the doors and windows securely closed, and check for emergency updates.
Also, gas valves should be closed to prevent leaks and electrical outlets... should not be touched.
In urban areas, avoid construction sites... because the wind can blow dangerous materials into the street and cause severe injuries.
The government also urges those in rural areas not to go out to their rice paddies.
