Millions told to evacuate as Typhoon Haishen hits southern Japan, cutting power, grounding flights

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has urged people in southern Japan to exercise the utmost caution during Typhoon Haishen. The storm slammed into several remote islands and the southernmost main island of Kyushu on September 6, 2020, leaving hundreds of thousands of homes without power and prompting authorities to urge more than seven million people to evacuate and seek shelter away from the path of the storm.
