In Japan, Typhoon Haishen has killed 1 person and left 4 others missing after battering the southwestern main island of Kyushu.
As of 3PM Monday afternoon, at least 76 people in the area have been reported injured by the typhoon ... and about 23 thousand residents in 11 prefectures were asked to evacuate their homes.
The storm that carried strong winds and heavy rain caused massive power outages to some 470 thousand households and has also disrupted telephone and mobile services.
