Typhoon Bavi to affect most of S. Korea at night

태풍 바비 오늘 밤부터 고비

We are, of course, tracking Typhoon Bavi's track tonight. It is the eighth tropical storm of the 2020 Pacific typhoon season,
We are joined by Lee Seung-min.
Seung-min, what are we looking at now?
Well, Connyoung. Typhoon Bavi has now passed Jeju Island and is close to reaching the city of Mokpo in Jeollanam-do Province. One of the year's most powerful typhoons will reach near Incheon early morning tomorrow and will pass through Seoul shortly after.
And as the typhoon is passing the West Sea, coastal areas and the Seoul metropolitan area will see strong winds. Based on the latest forecast, these areas will experience a maximum wind speed of 40 to 60 meters per second...strong enough to flip cars over. Already, ferry routes and flights connecting Jeju and Gimpo international airports have been canceled due to strong winds.
Bavi is set to drop up to 300 millimeters of rain on Jeju Island and the southwest. More heavy rain is forecasted around Jirisan Mountain, which has already been hit hard by the long monsoon season. Bavi is set to make landfall near North Korea's Hwanghae-do Province at around 9am tomorrow.
I'll be back with more updates later. Back to you, Connyoung.
