S. Korea braces for Typhoon Bavi, strongest storm of 2020

Our starting point this morning is the most powerful typhoon of the year that is barreling toward South Korea.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says Typhoon Bavi will be pass west of Jeju between 9AM and 9PM this Wednesday with the maximum wind speeds of 47 meters a second.
The typhoon expanded in size overnight meaning it could affect even more of the country.
The typhoon will pass close to Seoul early Thursday.
By then it is expected to pack winds of 39 meters a second.
The KMA forecasts that it will drop 100 to 300 millimeters of rain on Jeju, and 30 to 100 millimeters on the rest of the country, including Seoul.
Local authorities are cautioning the public to watch out for typhoon damage.
