Trainee doctors in their third year participated in the nationwide strike held today to protest the government's healthcare reform plans.
They joined thousands of other trainee doctors, comprised of interns and residents in their fourth year... who went on strike the previous day... prompting major university hospitals in Seoul to delay medical services.
Pointing to the gravity of the COVID-19 situation in the nation, the health ministry has decided to postpone negotiations with the Korean Intern Trainee Association.
Regarding the decision, the association said it would go ahead with its strike plans, calling the government action untrustworthy political rhetoric.
