The South Korean health authorities have now officially recommended the antiviral medication remdesivir to treat coronavirus patients with moderate symptoms who are on oxygen.
It will no longer, however, be recommending chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine.
The announcement was Sunday following clinical trials of remdesivir.
South Korea halted trials of chloroquine last week.
In the U.S., the FDA has also revoked its emergency-use authorization for chloroquine.
