In Hinduism, Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, music, art and science; who is one of the significant goddesses of the Hindu religion. She also is the Manusmruti of Lord Brahma, but this is something that we all know. So in this video, we are listing out some of the lesser known facts about Goddess Saraswati.

1 Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of knowledge and arts, represents the free flow of wisdom and consciousness.
2 Saraswati is a Sanskrit word where Sāra stands for essence, and Sva stands for oneself.
3 The word Saraswati literally means "essence of oneself" or "one who leads to the essence of self-knowledge".
4 The deity is admired by some Buddhist sects as well as Jain believers of west and central India.
5 A Japanese Buddhist goddess named Benzaiten was originated from the Goddess Saraswati.
6 Goddess Saraswati is also worshiped in Cambodia, Thailand & Indonesia as a goddess of speech and learning.
7 She is believed to be the source of Vedas and the one who empowers Hindus with speech, wisdom and learning.
8 The mantra chanted to her is called 'Saraswati Vandana', which often begins and ends with Vedic lessons.
9 She is portrayed with four hands representing four aspects of human personality in learning: mind, intellect, alertness and ego.
10 Hindus celebrate the festival of Vasant Panchami (the fifth day of spring) in her honor.
11 The day of Vasant Panchami is marked by helping young children learn how to write alphabets.
