South Korean consumers' demand for imported fruit has been growing steadily,…pushing up the value of such imports to a record high last year.
According to the Korea Customs Service, the nation shipped in around 1-and-a-quarter billion U.S. dollars worth of fruit in 2017.
That's equivalent to 8-hundred-34-thousand tons.
Among the most popular last year include bananas, oranges and grapes.
Breaking it down by country, the U.S. was the top exporter,… accounting for almost 40 percent of the total… followed by the Philippines.
Customs officials anticipate this will be another record-breaking year.
