S. Korea's LNG imports hit record high in 2018

South Korea's imports of liquefied natural gas hit a record high last year on surging imports from the U.S.
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) says more than 44 million tons of LNG were imported in 2018, up 17 percent on-year.
Qatar was Korea's number one LNG supplier, accounting for about a third of the country's total LNG imports.
This was followed by Australia, the U.S. and Oman.
LNG imports from the U.S. more than doubled in 2018 from the previous year to four-point-six million tons, making Korea the number one LNG importer from the U.S.
