China's Chang'e-5 has successfully landed on the moon - a major step towards its historic mission to collect lunar samples,... for the first time in half a century.
The lander will soon begin its attempt to collect 2 kilograms of lunar material,… from a previously unvisited site.
It plans to bring what it finds back to the Earth later this month.
If all goes well, China will become only one of three countries to bring back samples from the Moon,… following the U.S. and the Soviet Union.
The unmanned spacecraft was launched on November 24th.
