A Chinese probe makes history by landing on the far side of the moon.
The Chang'e 4's mission was launched in early December.
The spacecraft took three days to reach the moon and spent the last few weeks orbiting in preparation to touch down on the Von Karman crater.
The far side of the moon has been mapped before, but Chang'e 4 is the first spacecraft to touch down there.
The landing on Thursday morning comes about two years after the successful Chang'e 3 mission, the first soft landing on the moon since 1976.
Chang'e 4's mission: taking detailed measurements of the moon's terrain and mineral composition.
