China makes history,... as its Chang'e-5 space mission returned to Earth after collecting samples from the Moon.
The unmanned spacecraft landed in Inner Mongolia at 1:30 AM, local time, on Thursday.
It carried about 2 kilograms of rocks and soil,... from a previously unvisited site on the lunar surface.
This makes China only the third country to bring back samples from the Moon in 40 years… following the U.S. and the Soviet Union.
The materials will be used to study the origin of the solar system.
The Chang'e-5 venture was launched on November 24th.
