Two months before the actual Election day, the 2020 U.S. general election has kicked off with North Carolina starting to mail out absentee ballots on Friday.
Early voting, whether in person or by mail, is usually consequential.
But many analysts believe at least half the electorate will vote by mail or early in-person largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Other states will follow suit over the next few weeks.
Minnesota will be the first state to offer early in-person voting starting September 18.
