An article published by a leading Japanese daily claims the reason North Korea is developing nuclear missiles is to target Japan, not the United States.
In the Sunday edition of Sankei Shimbun, the author notes that North Korea now has missiles that can reach as far as the U.S., and that leader Kim Jong-un has been emphasizing deterrence, especially when it comes to the U.S.
Still, he claims, the nuclear-capable missiles the regime has are designed to reach Japan... and are not just a threat to the country they can now be used at any time.
