U.S. Commerce Department to launch probe into S. Korea’s PET Sheet imports

The U.S. Commerce Department plans to launch an anti-dumping probe on South Korea's PET sheet, which is used in the packaging of eggs and vegetables.
According to South Korea's state-funded trade and investment promotion organization, KOTRA, the measure comes after U.S. firms lodged a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission this month.
They claimed they were being hurt by cheap PET sheet imports from South Korea, Mexico and Oman.
Seventeen South Korean firms are included in the complaint and American firms are demanding anti-dumping tariffs of between 44-point-45 to 52-point-39 percent on products from South Korea.
The Commerce Department will launch the probe on July 29th and make a final decision by February 2020.
