The U.S. Commerce Department is expected to present to President Trump, its report on whether imported cars, like those from Korea, pose a threat to national security.
According to AFP on Thursday, the department concluded that they do, meaning there could be more tariffs.
Citing sources familiar to the matter, AFP added foreign automakers see the report as a major risk.
Last May, the commander in chief said he was considering duties of up to 25 percent on imported vehicles,... and ordered a national security evaluation.
After receiving the report, Trump will have 90 days to decide whether to go ahead with the move.
