Washington is reportedly searching for a venue for the 2nd North Korea-U.S. summit, that's expected to take place sometime this month or the next.
CNN, citing two sources familiar with the organization, reported earlier this week that teams had been sent to multiple locations during the last few weeks of 2018.
U.S. officials have not formally shared these locations with North Korea.
Trump expressed hopes of meeting Kim early this year, the North Korean leader, in his New Year's speech, also said he is ready to sit down with his American counterpart again anytime.
Vietnam, Indonesia, Hawaii, Mongolia and the demilitarized zone at the inter-Korean border have been mentioned by sources and experts as potential summit venues.
