S. Korea ends 2018 at 53rd in FIFA world rankings

The South Korean men's national football team will wrap up 2018 at fifty-third in the FIFA world rankings.
They'll head into the AFC Asian Cup 2019 in United Arab Emirates six places higher than their rank in January.
South Korea has been steadily moving up the rankings since the appointment of Paulo Bento as head coach in August.
Vietnam, led by South Korean coach Park Hang-seo, retained their spot in the top 100 …after lifting the AFF Suzuki Cup earlier this month.
Belgium remained the top-ranked nation,… slightly ahead of this year's World Cup winners, France.
Brazil, Croatia and England rounded out the top five.
