New Commander of U.S. Forces Korea General Robert Abrams takes office

U.S. Forces Korea has a new commander -- General Robert Abrams, replacing General Vincent Brooks, who's held the post since April 2016.
At the change-of-command ceremony Thursday at Camp Humphreys, General Abrams said... the relationship between the two allies remains unshakable and is based on mutual trust.
And he said they will continue to work together to maintain peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.
The new commander faces a series of challenges,.... including the eventual transfer of wartime operational control from the U.S. to South Korea and maintaining defense readiness amid diplomatic efforts with North Korea.
