The U.S. Forces Korea will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines to frontline healthcare workers.
A USFK official told the American Forces Network on Sunday that the inoculation will start at U.S. bases in Osan, Gunsan and Pyeongtaek on Tuesday.
The vaccination will be voluntary.
South Korean service members affiliated with the Korean Augmentation to the U.S. Army, better known as KATUSA, could also be subject to the inoculation.
Seoul's defense ministry said the USFK is expected to make an official request for formal consultation over whether KATUSA will get the shots.
