President Moon Jae-in hosted the leaders of U.S. Forces Korea at the nation's top office this afternoon to encourage them and honor their outgoing commander.
The South Korean leader thanked General Vincent Brooks for his service and stressed their iron-clad alliance is what made possible all the dramatic changes on the Peninsula in the past year, including the improvement in inter-Korean relations.
He praised the progress made in denuclearization, and said the alliance between Seoul and Washington has now evolved into a peace-making one that promotes not only the security and prosperity of both countries, but also peace and stability in Northeast Asia.
