Good afternoon. Typhoon Kong-rey is edging toward the Korean Peninsula, and will bring torrential showers, strong winds and high waves to the country until Saturday evening. Most regions are seeing moderate to heavy showers and the rain will come down harder as the day goes on.

Those in Jeju and along Korea's eastern and southern coasts will be hit the hardest, brace for severe stormy weather with heavy showers of more than 300 millimeters into Saturday.

Meanwhile, typhoon and high wave advisories have been issued for the waters off Jeju Island, with a strong wind advisory issued for Jeju. It's very likely flights and ferries in and out of Jeju will be cancelled... so check your travel schedules. Typhoon advisories are likely to be issued in more regions as the typhoon approaches.

The amount of rainfall will increase, and there's cooler air on the horizon for most regions today.

Daily highs will range from 18 to 24 degrees Celsius this afternoon. Be sure to keep safe until Saturday evening.
