BMW recalls 324,000 cars in Europe after Korean engine fires

BMW is recalling 324-thousand diesel cars in Europe to fix a mechanical issue that has caused engine fires in South Korea.
According to a German newspaper on Wednesday,... a faulty exhaust gas recirculation module in some of BMW's diesel models,... which caused 27 engine fires in South Korea this year,... prompted the huge recall,... including nearly 100-thousand units in Germany alone.
This comes as the South Korean government is looking into banning BMW cars from the road to prevent any more fires.
Meanwhile, a group of local BMW owners will file a police complaint this week seeking a criminal investigation into top officials at the local unit of the German carmaker.
Barun Law Firm says it plans to lodge a complaint on behalf of 20 BMW owners and one victim of a BMW vehicle-related fire.
