BMW Korea to voluntarily recall 42 models, some 160,000 units after engine fires

BMW Korea says it will recall up to 106-thousand fire-prone vehicles, after problems were found with the exhaust gas recirculation module in 42 models, including the 520d model.
The land ministry says fires had been caused by defective exhaust gas recirculation modules fitted in the 520d to lower emissions.
So far, more than 15 BMW 520d models have burst into flames this year,.... with 8 of those cases happening in this month alone.
It's the first time in any country that the German automaker has recalled vehicles over faulty parts.
The recall will begin next month.
