MLB slugger Choo Shin-soo extends on-base streak to 50 games

In Major League Baseball, Korean slugger Choo Shin-soo has extended his record-breaking on-base streak to 50 games,... the longest of any active MLB player.
The Texas Rangers' designated hitter got his 50th on-base Saturday night, local time, against the Orioles in Baltimore on a walk in the first inning.
Choo had already claimed the record for longest on-base streak by an Asian player in the big leagues.
Fewer than fifty MLB players have ever had a streak as long as Choo's is now, and no one has since 2007.
In terms of that statistic, he joins the ranks of players like Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams and Barry Bonds.
And with 12 homers during those 50 games, it's little surprise that this coming week Choo Shin-soo will be playing in his first All-Star Game.
