In sports news.... it's all aboard the "Choo-Choo Train."
The Texas Rangers' South Korean hitter Choo Shin-soo has now racked up 200 home runs in Major League Baseball,... becoming the first Asian player to achieve the feat.
Kan Hyeong-woo tells us more.
Choo Shin-soo has achieved what no other Asian player in Major League Baseball has ever done,... hit 200 career home runs.
In his first plate appearance against the Baltimore Orioles at the bottom of the first inning on Tuesday at Globe Life Park in Arlington,... the Texas Rangers right fielder swung his bat for a solo home run on a line drive to the center field.
It was Choo's eleventh home run of the season and the double-century of his 15-year MLB career.
Choo has been getting All-Star considerations this year as he's in the top ten in terms of his batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage among American League outfielders.
Last year, he became the third South Korean to earn an All-Star selection in the MLB.
2019 has been kind to Choo so far.
In April, he recorded his fifteenth-hundred career hit to become just the second Asian player to achieve the feat after Japan's Ichiro Suzuki.
