Gangwon Province, Following the scent of pine

In this episode, Benjamin and the team visit Gangwon Province, following the scent of pine to discover tasty Korean dishes.

Pine is the most common tree that you can find in mountains of Korea. Historically, pine trees were considered the national tree of Korea. In Gangwon Province, Song-i mushrooms(pine tree mushrooms), a precious treasure dubbed 'diamond of the forest', grows on the roots of pine trees and peaks in Autumn season.

Another pine-inspired food is Songpyeon, Korea's traditional rice cake made with new crop of grains that is steamed on the pine needles. Songpyeon takes its name from the pine for this reason, as Song means pine. Also we will explore the Songjukdugyeonju, traditional liquor made with pine, bamboo and azalea that has 200 years of history.

In the 7th episode of Tasty Trail with Benjamin, you can feel the delicate fragrance and taste of pine from Gangwon Province.
