Wales headlines 21 April: Senedd member calls Wales’ train system ‘bleak’

A family has paid tribute to a man who has died in hospital following a 3 and a half month battle with a traumatic brain injury. 74 year old Phillip Jones was hit by a car earlier on this year, died on the 11th April. His family say he was a larger than life character, and no words can express how heartbroken they are.

Unite Cymru have said they have recieved a an NHS pay offer and will now ballot members on whether they will accept the deal. The union said they will not be making recommendations on how members vote as they feel the final decision should remain with workers.

A Welsh labour Senedd member has admitted using trains in Wales has been ‘pretty bleak for a while’ at an event on Thursday. Lee Waters MS for Llanelli, also accused the UK government of planning to worsen the train system in Wales, which the UK government said was wide of the mark.
