Wales headlines 12 March: Welsh gov qender quota plans quashed by Llwywdd

Senedd plans to force parties to have a 50/50 split of make and female politicians on election lists has been quashed by the presiding officer. Elin Jones, the Llwywdd of the Senedd has said the rule lies within the competence of the UK government, so the Welsh gov would need to go through Westminster to pass it.

More than 40 households in Hirwaun in Rhondda Cynon Taff have been urged to evacuate after RAAC was found. The concrete material has been found in a number of public buildings, with more now being found at housing association properties. Trivallis who own the 44 properties are organising tempraory accommodation.

A plan for more bus lanes and increased parking restrictions are being put forward by Cardiff city council in an effort to make public transport more accessible. There are 6 different bus routes which will be affected, including between Newport and Cardiff and the city centre to Cardiff bay.
