Wales headlines 18 September: More Senedd members could cost £19.5 million

An additional 36 Senedd members could cost as much as 19.5 million pounds more by 2030 according to documents released by the Welsh government. Welsh Labour say it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to strengthen our democracy, while the tories have said Wales needs more doctors, dentists, nurses and teachers, not politicians.

A man has been taken to hospital as he and four others were attacked by a dog at Palin’s Kimmel Bay holiday park in North Wales. Two men, aged 58 and 28 have been arrested in connection with the incident, and the dog - which is not believed to be an XL bully - has been seized.

Wales have moved closer to a place in the knock out stages of the World Cup after their bonus point 28-8 win over Portugal on Saturday. Wales weren’t at their best against a team including some part timers, but a win against Australia next weekend would secure their space in the quarter finals.
