Teachers across the country have gone on strike in a dispute over pay and conditions. The national education union rejected a recent offer from the Welsh government, saying it didn’t address the cost of living crisis and damage to teachers’ pay since 2010.

Council tax in Newport is set to rise as the council announce increases to the amount residents will pay. As part of their recent budget, the Newport City Council have also committed to changing to a three-weekly bin rota and will turn off streetlights between midnight and 6am. Opposition councils have called it a kick in the teeth.

Sheffield Council have apologised for an error which had the Scottish flag flying over their city hall for St David’s Day. The council said they rectified it as soon as they realised the issue. Although there was some lighthearted stick on social media for the error, it’s the thought that counts really.
