EU states including Germany, France, Italy to begin vaccinations starting Sunday

As the death toll from COVID-19 rises across several European countries,...some EU states will begin vaccinations starting Sunday local time.
Vaccine doses made by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech will be delivered to Germany, France, and Italy on Saturday so they can start giving vaccinations on Sunday.
Austria, Bulgaria, and Spain have also scheduled inoculations to begin on Sunday.
In January, manufacturers will deliver batches of the vaccine to Switzerland and the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, there are still concerns about whether the vaccine will be effective against a new variant of the virus found in the UK... and vaccine makers are currently conducting additional tests.
