미 의회, 대선 후 첫 국방수권법안에 주한미군 현행유지 명시

A U.S. congressional record shows that the defense budget bill for next year... include several measures aimed at checking Trump, due to be replaced by Biden, on troop movements... setting the current level of 28-thousand-500 for U.S. forces stationed in South Korea.
The conference report on the defense budget for 2021... states that funds appropriated by the National Defense Authorization Act cannot be used for a reduction in troops... unless it is in the U.S. security interests... and does not overly hurt its security alliance.
This comes amid reports of a possible reduction of U.S. troops in South Korea by the Trump administration... as a bargaining chip in defense cost-sharing talks... and to realign U.S. troops overseas.
