Russia claims preliminary results for its Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine shows it is 95 percent effective.
According to a joint statement Tuesday by Russia's health ministry,... a state-run research center and the Russian Direct Investment Fund,... the vaccine showed 91-point-4 percent effectiveness 28 days after the first dose,... and after a second dose 42 days later,... that edged up to 95-percent.
The two-dose vaccine will be available on the international market for less than 10 U.S. dollars a dose,... and free for Russian citizens.
It can be stored between two to eight degrees Celsius.
The news comes as Pfizer, Moderna and Astra-Zeneca confirmed positive results from their late trials.
