Pres. Moon to meet China's top diplomat Wang Yi

China's top diplomat is due to arrive in South Korea later tonight after spending two days in Tokyo.
In Seoul until Friday, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay a visit to Seoul's top office for a meeting with President Moon Jae in and also sit down for a bilat with his South Korean counterpart to discuss a range of issues, including North Korea, the pandemic and an incoming U.S. administration under President-elect Joe Biden.
His visit also comes amid talks of a trip to Seoul by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

President Moon Jae-in will meet with China's top diplomat Wang Yi at the Blue House on Thursday afternoon.
Likely to be on the agenda,... is a possible visit to South Korea by Chinese President Xi Jinping and a potential trilateral summit between Korea, China, and Japan.
Wang Yi could also bring up the recent tensions between Beijing and Washington as his visit comes just before the U.S. fully transitions into a Biden administration in January.
Beijing has been emphasizing the need for cooperation in COVID-19 quarantine measures and the economy.
Biden, meanwhile, has promised to re-engage with U.S. allies.
Other issues likely to be discussed are denuclearization, peace on the Korean Peninsula and China-Japan relations.
Before his meeting with President Moon, Wang is also scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha on Thursday.
The two will exchange views on bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues... including cooperation in combatting the pandemic.
Wang Yi's visit comes on the heels of his Tokyo visit on Tuesday.
During his talk with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi, the two agreed to cooperate in reviving the economy hit hard by COVID-19... but were at odds when it came to certain territorial issues.
There is a dispute relating to the ownership of a group of uninhabited islands in the East China Sea...currently under Japan's control.
Japan calls them "Senkaku Islands" and China "Diaoyu".
Wang defended China's coast guard patrols in the area saying that they will continue to safeguard what is theirs... while Motegi strongly urged China to take a forward-looking approach.
Both agreed to resume business travel by the end of this month through a program which allows visitors limited activities during their two-week quarantine period.
