Guatemala has suspended the final ratification of next year's controversial budget,.. following a violent protest,
Over the weekend, hundreds of protesters broke into the congress, setting fire to parts of the building.
They were angry at the government and lawmakers,... who approved the bill that cuts spending on education and health,...while increasing lawmakers' meal budget.
Thousands of others also protested in front of the National Palace in Guatemala City mostly peacefully.
The protestors claim the government passed the bill while people were distracted by two major hurricanes and COVID-19.
