21대 첫 국감 오늘 개막…최대 격전지는 국방위

The first annual audit of the government under South Korea's 21st National Assembly kicks off in a few hours.
For the next 20 days, more than 640 government organizations will be inspected by the assembly's various committees.
Lawmakers are expected to probe the recent killing of a South Korean government official by North Korea on the West Sea border and debate the special military service treatment given to the justice minister's son.
On Wednesday, officials from dozens of government organizations, including the Supreme Court and the ministries of foreign affairs, health and welfare, and education, will be in the hot seat.
Another hot topic is expected to be strengthening disease preventive measures due to COVID-19.
