South Korea has dismissed claims by a Japanese newspaper... that it's been trying to arrange a visit to the U.S. by the North Korean leader's sister... before the presidential election in November.
Seoul's foreign ministry called the report "untrue."
Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun, in a report Wednesday, claimed that South Korea had planned to arrange high-level meetings between Kim Yo-jung and top U.S. officials,... citing sources from Seoul, Tokyo and Washington.
The report added that Seoul initially hoped to revive the denuclearization talks through another summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-un,... but later decided it would try for a visit by Kim's sister to avoid a repeat of the no-deal summit in Hanoi.
