U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order requiring the federal government to buy "essential" drugs from American companies,... and avoid major producers in China and India.
The White House trade advisor Peter Navarro says President Trump is expected to sign that order,... called "Buy American First," saying Washington is working on lowering its overdependence on foreign countries for essential medicines and medical supplies.
The order will also strip away regulations U.S. pharmaceutical manufacturers face,... and will fast-track the review process to make certain drug ingredients available quickly.
