Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says that U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts towards North Korea's complete denuclearization made no progress and that Pyeongyang, in fact, has never given up its ambition to acquire de facto nuclear status.
In an opinion page in the South Morning China Post on Saturday, Ban also noted that the North continues to strengthen its nuclear capabilities.
The comments came as he was explaining that nuclear conflicts worldwide remain a clear and present danger today.
Ban also named tensions between the U.S. and Russia as well as recent clashes between China and India as examples of nuclear threats.
