브라질 코로나19 하루 확진자만 4만명대…누적 120만명 넘어

The number of COVID-19 cases in Brazil is spiking.
It now has world's second largest number of total confirmed cases,... and the number of new cases there shows no sign of slowing down.
Jang Tae-hyun has more.
Brazil has now reported over one-point-two million confirmed cases of coronavirus.
The country's health ministry said that around 40-thousand people tested positive with the virus on Thursday alone.
The new daily cases have been around this number for the past three days.
Brazil is seeing more than 11-hundred deaths per day, with its total death toll from COVID-19 approaching 55-thousand.
Experts say that the virus is rapidly spreading because of the poor medical system and because people are not following virus prevention guidelines.
"Some people don't wear face masks properly and that complicates the situation."
Out of the total confirmed patients, around 500-thousand are receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, in Sao Paulo the city with the most confirmed cases in the country shopping centers reopened in early June with some restrictions... and restaurants are to reopen next week.
