The mayor of Busan, Oh Keo-don , has resigned over sexual harrassment allegations.
During a press briefing on Thursday, Mayor Oh apologized and confessed that he had "unnecessary physical contact" with a female official.
The ruling Democratic Party has issued an apology, saying they plan to remove him from the party.
Meanwhile the main opposition, the United Future Party, has urged for a full investigation.
Oh has been working as the city's mayor since he was elected in 2018.
Vice Mayor, Byun Seong-wan will serve as acting mayor until next April's by-election.
