The head of the World Trade Organization is stepping down early from his post.
In a statement to WTO ambassadors on Thursday, Roberto (Ah-zeh-bay-du) Azevedo, a former Brazilian diplomat who has led the WTO since 2013,... says he will leave in September,... a year earlier than scheduled.
He said his resignation would allow governments to focus on next year's planned meeting of trade ministers on reforming the organization,... rather than have it consumed with the process of appointing his successor.
