And President Moon Jae-in was also at the ceremony... praising South Korea's military and its strength.
He said, a powerful defense drives the efforts for peace in the region.
"Anyone who lives on the Korean Peninsula should enjoy peace and prosperity. The strong force of our military is defending our dream. Peace is something to make, not to keep. Our military's airtight security supports dialogue and cooperation and allows us to take an audacious walk toward lasting peace."
Mentioning how the heavy military presence on the inter-Korean border was reduced because of the military's determination to realize the inter-Korean military agreement.... the president also said, South Korea will maintain a higher military readiness than any other country.
Moon said,... his administration will make sure to realize the Defense Reform 2-point-oh initiative, adding that the government has allocated almost 42 billion U.S. dollars for national defense next year.
