Another suspected case of African swine fever case that was reported at a pig farm in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do Province… has turned up negative.
Following a thorough check-up on Monday,… the Agriculture Ministry concluded the pigs were not infected with the deadly animal disease.
The negative result is good news for the authorities as there were concerns the outbreak could've moved to a region south of the capital area for the first time.
So far, all nine confirmed cases have been in the northern areas of Gyeonggi-do Province and the city of Incheon,... adjacent to the inter-Korean border.
South Korea is continuing quarantine efforts to try and contain the spread of the virus, while carrying out an investigation to find out what caused the outbreak in the first place.
