South Korea is launching a nationwide crackdown on pig farms that feed food waste to their pigs,... in an effort to prevent an outbreak of African swine fever.
The agriculture ministry says it plans to work with the environment ministry and local governments to visit pig farms from Monday, to end the feeding of leftover food to animals and to provide education on quarantine measures.
With last month's amendment to the Enforcement Rule on the Wastes Control Act,... farms in South Korea are prohibited from feeding livestock leftover food without prior government approval.
