Typhoon Mitag to hit S. Korea later this week

The 18th typhoon of the season, Mitag is forecast to bring heavy rain to the Korean Peninsula as early as Tuesday and directly hit southern parts of South Korea by Thursday morning.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says,... as of 9 a.m today,... the typhoon is heading west-northwest, crossing the Philippine Sea at a speed of 21 kilometers per hour.
The typhoon has windspeeds of 1-hundred-15 kilometers per hour but is expected to strengthen.
Mitag is likely to pass through the seas west of Jeju-do Island on Wednesday and travel north to waters off Jeollanamdo Province the next morning.
With the influence of Mitag, Jeju could see up to 6-hundred millimeters of rain with strong winds of up to 180 kilometers per hour.
