Good morning, the seas around Jeju and Jeollanam-do Province are already feeling the impact of Typhoon Mitag. The storm is moving faster than expected and will pass Jeju this evening, getting close to Mokpo in Jeollanam-do Province around midnight, before heading out to the East Sea on Thursday afternoon.
Right now, the storm is dropping torrential showers in Jeollanam-do provinces. Rain will spread to Seoul and the rest of the central region by lunchtime.
Until tomorrow, downpours will pound Jeju and southern regions as well as the east coast, fierce winds will blow along the coastline and Jeju Island.
A typhoon warning remains in place for the southern seas and waters off Jeju while Jeollanam-do province and nearby areas are also dealing with high seas and strong wind advisories. More typhoon-related weather alerts are likely to be issued as the day goes on.
Daily highs today will be in the low to mid twenties in most parts. Be careful and keep yourself up-to-date.
