Deputy National Security Advisor Kim Hyun-chong says that Japan's move to expel South Korea from its whitelist,... has only a "handful" of real effects on Korea.
During an interview with TBS radio on Monday,... Kim said this conclusion was made after he reviewed the around 12-hundred strategic materials affected by the decision.
He said that was why President Moon had said South Korea could win against Japan.
Kim also said Korea needs to reduce its reliance on other countries for national security,... as there is no guarantee that the same kind of problem couldn't occur in the security sector.
Also regarding his trip to Washington last month,... Kim clarified that he did not ask the U.S. for mediation,... as doing so would only have made Korea a "global pushover".
